Extra Curricular Activities

Below are the extra-curricular activities being offered at this time.

Creativity Club -

Creativity Club is an after school enrichment opportunity offered to first and second grade students.  This spring semester, Ms. Derryberry will offer three clubs to be held in February, March, & April. The clubs will focus on exploration with a particular medium and building a sense of curiosity, creativity and community among our young artists. Art will also focus on process, rather than product, with the student choice being the driving force behind activities.

The cost is $40 per monthly club.  Club meetings will take place in the primary art room from 3:00-4:30 pm on the Tuesdays noted below.  Registration will begin January 22.

Space is limited to 15 students per club.  Please complete a registration form available on JA’s extracurricular website. Print out and return the registration form along with exact cash or a check payable to “Jefferson Academy” for $40 by January 25th to the front office, or to Ms. Derryberry.  Students will rank their 1st, 2nd &  3rd subject preferences.  Given the demand in prior years, students will likely be placed in one club for the semester.  If we exceed the capacity for participants, we will create rosters by random selection and return checks if necessary.

Please note, the Creativity Club is an optional after school program. Therefore the fee is not included in the free or reduced lunch waiver program. Some projects may require additional time outside of our scheduled time to finish. Also, please consider other after school commitments when enrolling. Click here for the schedule and to download the register form.

Art Club -

Art club is an after school enrichment opportunity offered to intermediate students who express a passion for the visual arts.  This year, Mrs. Weir will offer a 3rd-6th grade club most months. The art clubs will focus on deepening experience with a particular medium and building a sense of fun and community among our young artists.  The cost is $40 per monthly club.  Club meetings will take place in the intermediate art room from 3:00-4:30 pm on the Tuesdays.  Space is limited to 15 dedicated intermediate students per club.  Students will complete a registration form available on JA’s extracurricular website. Please return the registration form along with exact cash or a check payable to “Jefferson Academy” for $40 by September 8th to the front office or to Mrs. Weir.  Students will rank their 1st, 2nd &  3rd project preferences.  Given the demand in prior years, students will likely be placed in one club for the year.  If we exceed the capacity for participants, we will create rosters by random selection and return checks if necessary.  Please note, art club is an optional after school program. Therefore the fee is not included in the free or reduced lunch waiver program. Some projects may require additional time outside of our scheduled time to finish.
