School Bulletin

July 24, 2020

Hello JA Families,

To assist with your planning needs please read the following information.  Please note that all information is subject to change based on the changing pandemic situation.

  • Per the JA Board, the start date of school is now August 24th

  • There will be an in-person back to school meeting for incoming kindergarten students and students new to JA.  For all others, teachers will provide a video message to their classroom students.

  • The ruling on facial coverings has changed from age 11 and up to now ages 10 and up.

    • Students in grades 5 and 6 will have a mandatory requirement to wear facial coverings.

    • Students in grades K-4: It is highly recommended that students wear a facial covering.

    • For the health and safety of all students; anyone that chooses not to wear a mask in 5th and 6th grade will be required to engage in remote learning.

{Please know this is the mask guidance for this week and may change per health department guidelines}

  • Students will be required to have temperature checks prior to entering the building.  We are continuing to define how this will look.

  • Band students:  It is looking more hopeful that we can have a band with some very specific precautions.  I would proceed with instrument rentals.

School Options:  I realize that this is the one thing everyone is wanting information on.  Please know that we are creating very specific options that will comply with Covid restrictions/health department guidelines.  We have a final survey ready to go out next week that will provide you with explicit information on options you may choose from.

Online registration for the elementary will begin on August 10.

We will be sending out weekly emails with updated information.  The office and administration thank you for your continued support and patience.
