School Bulletin            April 9, 2021

Dear JA Families,

Please read below for important information:

Calendar Changes for April/May

  • April 29th and April 30th will be normal school days (In person/remote learning). Assessment Days have been cancelled. These days are not related to CMAS testing.

  • May 10th will also be a normal school day (in person/remote learning).  This is a makeup day for one of our snow days.

  • Our last day of school will be May 25th.  It will be a full day of school for all students with a dismissal time of 3:00 pm.  There will not be a half day of school on May 26th.

If you have made plans to be gone on these days, please know that your absence will be excused.

Masks at Recess Time

  • Students are no longer wearing masks outside for recess.  This is per the JCPH and Governor’s guidelines.  Students who wish to wear their masks are certainly encouraged to do so if this is their preference.

Jag Care Lottery (before/after school program)

  • Families interested in this program for the 2021-2022 must participate in this lottery. Lottery forms must be submitted by Friday, April 23.

  • The J.A. Foundation has funded a project for us to create Take Home Activity Backpacks.  The backpack is full of awesomeness to keep your students active and healthy over the weekend.
  • We have 20 backpacks that can be checked out beginning next week. Backpacks will be divided amongst requests received by grade level. It is possible if you request one you may not receive one for that weekend. You will be notified via email if you will be receiving a backpack for the coming weekend.
  • Backpacks are to be picked up by a parent/guardian on Friday after school and returned by a parent/guardian on Monday by the end of the school day. Backpacks will NOT be checked out to a student
  • Exact pick up/drop off information will be shared in the email you receive (if you are to receive a backpack). Since this is a new process for us, please be patient as we learn and work out the kinks!
  • See our P.E. webpage to see what’s in the backpacks or to reserve a backpack. For questions please contact Mrs. Carey - tcarey@jajags.com orMrs. Sumarsam - msumarsam@jajags.com
