Full-day Music Kindergarten Program Wednesday, November 14 at 2:00 p.m. This will be held in the Intermediate gym.

Cold/Snowy WeatherPlease have your child come to school prepared for the weather conditions with snow boots, winter coat, gloves, etc. Students will go outside for recess everyday unless the conditions are extreme.  Also, put your child’s name in their belongings. We go through the lost and found regularly and return labeled items to the classroom.

School ClosuresWe follow Jefferson County Schools with weather-related closures. Families should check the major television stations, Jefferson County School’s website and JA’s website for school closures. Families will also receive a phone call from Jefferson County Schools when all schools are closed. Make sure in Jeffco Connect that you have checked the emergency box on your contact information in Notification Preferences relating to your phone number.

Handicap Seating - If you have a special need due to a disability, plan to attend one of our programs, and wish to request accommodations in order to participate, contact Shelly Cohen, 720-728-6162.  Please call in advance so that appropriate arrangements for reasonable accommodations may be made.

Original WorksOnline ordering will be available through Wednesday, November 14. Orders will be delivered to students’ classrooms on Monday, December 10. Original Works make great gifts and support JA’s art department. For questions, please contact Mrs. Lisa Weir at or Amy Mauck at

Community Social - Please join us this Wednesday, November 14th, at Noodles & Co. at 8071 Wadsworth Blvd. for this month’s Community Social Event! Noodles will donate 25% of JA sales back to the school. See attached flier for details.

Volunteers Needed! We need help in both the cafeteria (k-3) and commons (4-6) during lunch time. This is an opportunity to get volunteer hours in for parents, grandparents and other family members (younger children are welcome!). Shifts are one hour, but you can sign up for both if you'd like. Please arrive ten minutes prior to shift.Click here to sign up.

Background ChecksThese are necessary every school year for parents that chaperone on field trips.  Not all of our field trips require a background check, only when a parent is alone with a group of students.  Your child’s teacher or education assistant will notify you when this is needed. Since the school pays for every background check, we don’t want parents coming in for a background check, unless it is necessary. Please keep in mind that these may take up to a week to process.
